Based on Hans Christian Andersen's classic fairy tale "The Princess and the Pea," the musical "Once Upon a Mattress" offers the tale of Princess Winnifred, one of a long line of princesses who try to marry Prince Dauntless. His mother, Queen Aggravain, sets impossible tests for each princess to prevent a marriage - but will Princess Winnifred be able to overcome the latest and greatest test?!
Sandy High School Drama will present the musical, featuring a number of memorable songs as well as some hilarious turns, for the spring production.
“Once Upon a Mattress,” Book by Jay Thompson, Marshall Barer and Dean Fuller, music by Mary Rodgers and lyrics by Marshall Barer, is presented by Sandy High School Drama Friday, April 17, Saturday, April 18 and Thursday through Saturday, April 23-25. All shows are at 7 p.m. in the SHS auditorium. Tickets are $11 for adults, $8 for students and free for seniors and kids under 5. Tickets are available online or at the door on performance nights.
